Bone Grafting

A bone graft is placed in an area where the ridge of the bone is too thin to support an implant. Sometimes a bone graft is placed at the time of an extraction to promote healing and sometimes it is placed in an area where a tooth was removed several years ago.

After an extraction, the ridge can become too small for placement of an implant.

After a bone graft, the ridge is again large enough for a dental implant.
