Inhalational Sedation

NitrousSome patients need a little help relaxing prior to starting treatment. Nitrous Oxide ("laughing gas") is available when needed to make you more comfortable. If this is the only sedative needed for treatment, it has no residual effect. Therefore the sedative effects are eliminated soon after the gas is turned off.

However, when nitrous oxide is used in conjunction with other forms of sedation, the residual effects of the other sedation should be considered.
